$30,000 reward offered to help solve murder on Easter Sunday 2021 in Birmingham

UPDATE: April 10, 2023:The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has teamed with the Birmingham Police Department (BPD) in working to solve the murder of Areyelle Yarbrough. The FBI has now offered a reward of $30,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the killing of Ms. Yarbrough."It has been two years since Areyelle Yarbrough's life was cut short in a senseless act of violence. Areyelle, along with many others, were enjoying a beautiful day in the park when two groups began shooting at one another, which ultimately resulted in her being struck by a stray bullet. We know there are several people who were in the park and witnessed this tragic event. The Birmingham Police Department along with the FBI are asking those who have information about this homicide to contact us directly at (205)-254-1764 or CrimeStoppers at (205) 254-7777" stated BPD Chief Thurmond."I hope today's reward announcement of the FBI offering $30,000 dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her murder, continues to highlight our partnership and our commitment to this community to hold her killers responsible and bring justice to her family," said FBI Special Agent in Charge Carlton Peeples.
