Piedmont woman killed in two-vehicle crash in Cherokee County

A Piedmont woman was killed in a crash with a tractor-trailer in Cherokee County Friday afternoon.The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on U.S. 411 near the 255-mile marker, approximately ten miles south of Alexis.Brenda A. Ferguson, 68, was killed when the 2021 Lexus RX 350 she was driving was struck by a 2006 Mack tractor-trailer driven by Dylan Sorter, 35, of Guntersville. She was pronounced dead at the scene.Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are investigating what led to the accident.
