A Birmingham police officer and two other people are being treated for injuries after a crash involving a police cruiser Sunday morning.Police got a call at 4:46 a.m. that a patrol vehicle was struck at 5th Avenue South and 30th Street.Be aware: Current weather alerts in your areaWhen officers arrived they found a Chevrolet Camaro was on fire after hitting the patrol vehicle, a Ford Explorer, in the side.A man and a woman who were in the Camaro had gotten out but the Explorer was nearby with the Birmingham officer still inside.The officers got the officer out of her patrol vehicle and Birmingham Fire and Rescue (BFRS) put out the car fire.BFRS took all three people to UAB Hospital for treatment.The male driver of the Camaro and the BPD officer have serious injuries but are listed in stable condition. The female passenger in the Camaro has non-life-threatening injuries. A witness told investigators that the BPD South Precinct officer had just entered the intersection at 5th Avenue South and 30th Street when the man driving the Camaro ran a stop sign and hit the patrol vehicle in a T-bone collision to the driver's side.The accident is still under investigation.Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WVTM 13

A Birmingham police officer and two other people are being treated for injuries after a crash involving a police cruiser Sunday morning.
Police got a call at 4:46 a.m. that a patrol vehicle was struck at 5th Avenue South and 30th Street.

When officers arrived they found a Chevrolet Camaro was on fire after hitting the patrol vehicle, a Ford Explorer, in the side.
A man and a woman who were in the Camaro had gotten out but the Explorer was nearby with the Birmingham officer still inside.
The officers got the officer out of her patrol vehicle and Birmingham Fire and Rescue (BFRS) put out the car fire.
