Search for suspect after man dies from early morning shooting
The Sylacauga Police Department is asking the public for help after officers responded to a man who was found shot on Sunday, July 2nd.According to the department, the officers found Jason Anthony Swain, Jr. at the corner of Virginia Avenue and Scrooge Alley in the old Avondale Mill Village around 1:00 a.m.Swain was taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center by ambulance for treatment. Officers were notified that he died from a gunshot wound to his chest.At this time, there are no suspects in custody and investigators are working to find out what caused the shooting.Anyone with information about the investigation should call the Sylacauga Police Department's tip line at (256) 249-4716 or the department's main line at (256) 267-0090.

The Sylacauga Police Department is asking the public for their help after officers responded to a shooting of a man on Sunday, July 2nd.
According to the department, officers were called to the shooting at the corner of Virginia Avenue and Scrooge Alley where they found Jason Anthony Swain, Jr. around 1:00 a.m.
Swain was taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center for treatment by ambulance. Officers were notified that he died from a gunshot wound to his chest.
At this time, there are no suspects in custody.
Investigators are working to find out what caused the shooting.
