I DID TALK TO A WITNESS A SHORT TIME AGO WHO SAID THAT IT STARTED WITH A COUPLE OF GROUPS OF GIRLS. HE SAID LIKE TEENAGE GIRLS WHO WERE FIGHTING THAT FIGHT TURNED PHYSICAL. AND THEN HE SAID A YOUNG MAN PULLED OUT A GUN. A YOUNG MAN HAD GONE HOME, JUST PULLED OUT A GUN AND STARTED SHOOTING. SO EVERYBODY SCATTERED AND I SEEN THE YOUNG LADY, MAYBE SHE’S ABOUT 14 OR 15 YEARS OLD AND SHE WAS LAYING ON THE GROUND REALLY NOT SAYING ANYTHING, BUT SHE WAS STILL CONSCIOUS AND I JUST APPLIED WACO. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TO HER. I KNOW SHE HAD A NECK ROOM SERIOUS NECK ROOM, AND HE TOLD ME HE APPLIED PRESSURE TO HER NECK TO TRY TO CONTROL THE BLEEDING, SAW HER TAKEN AWAY. I TALKED TO ANOTHER WITNESS WHO SAID HE SAW A YOUNG MAN WHO APPEARED TO BE SHOT IN THE WAIST OR LEGS, WHO WAS HE SAID, SOAKED IN BLOOD ON THE SIDEWALK HERE. SO CERTAINLY A VERY HORRIBLE SCENE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GATHERED HERE TO CELEBRATE JUNETEENTH. WE KNOW, AGAIN, FIVE PEOPLE INJURED, AT LEAST FOUR OF THEM TRANSPORTED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, ANOTHER ONE TAKEN BY PRIVATE AMBULANCE. As a Juneteenth Festival had just ended, a shooting involving teenagers from ages 14 to 19 took place in Milwaukee.According to police, six teenagers were shot on Monday around 4:20 p.m., including four females aged 14, 16, 17, and 18; and two males aged 17 and 19. Fortunately, there were no fatalities. Police continue to look for suspects, but preliminary investigations suggest that a 17-year-old male victim was also a shooter, police Chief Jeffrey Norman said in a briefing.Norman said he's lived in Milwaukee all his life and had never seen this happen."This is a serious situation that we all need to take hold of what's going on. In your homes. Please get involved. Please ensure that we are making sure that our children are not having these weapons of destruction out here," Norman said.Milwaukee continues to see a rise in crime among teenagers. Data from Milwaukee police show that last year, 22 kids died in shootings. "There's no reason that a young person should have their hand on a gun of any kind. No reason whatsoever. It is completely and totally unacceptable. And they put themselves at risk. They put their neighbors at risk. They put all of our community at risk," Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said.
