AND HERE’S A LIVE LOOK FROM OUR WVTM 13 STUDIO CAMERA LOOKING OVER DOWNTOWN BIRMINGHAM. A HAD SOME GOOD BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS THROUGHOUT THE SECOND HALF OF THE DAY. THAT ALLOWED US TO WARM UP VERY EFFECTIVELY. WE SAW A HIGH IN BIRMINGHAM TODAY, 76 DEGREES. REALLY, REALLY PLEASANT EVENING. GREAT EVENING. MAYBE FOR A WALK OR TO TAKE THE DINNER OUTDOORS TO OUR NORTH. WE ARE WATCHING FOR SOME STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS OVER PARTS OF TENNESSEE. THIS IS A SLIGHT LEVEL TWO OUT OF FIVE RISK IN THE YELLOW HERE. THAT DOES INCLUDE THE CITY OF NASHVILLE. SO WE WILL BE WATCHING THAT CAREFULLY OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS. BUT NO SEVERE THREAT OVER OUR PART OF THE STATE. WE’VE GOT JUST A COUPLE PASSING SHOWERS POSSIBLE AS WE HEAD INTO THE LATER PART OF THIS EVENING. RIGHT NOW, OUR TEMPERATURES, THOUGH JUST SO PLEASANT. WE’RE AT 74 DEGREES IN BIRMINGHAM, EUTAW AND ALICEVILLE AT 78, TUSCALOOSA AT 76, AND IN TUSCALOOSA, YOU HAD A HIGH TODAY OF 81 DEGREES. AND THAT BROKE THE RECORD FOR THIS DATE, WHICH WAS 80 DEGREES SET IN 2019. SYLACAUGA AT 73 DEGREES. SO A LOT OF FOLKS ENJOYING JUST A PLEASANT EVENING, IF YOU LIKE. TODAY YOU’RE GOING TO LIKE TOMORROW ALMOST A COPY AND PASTE TYPE OF DAY. WE START IN THE MORNING WITH SOME CLOUDS AROUND. THERE COULD BE SOME LOW CLOUD COVER, MILD TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S, A FEW PASSING SHOWERS POSSIBLE, BUT REALLY NO MEANINGFUL RAIN FROM THAT. AS WE APPROACH LUNCHTIME, THAT’S WHEN WE DO START TO GET THOSE BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS, ESPECIALLY ALONG AND TO THE SOUTH OF I-20. THAT WILL ALLOW US TO QUICKLY WARM INTO THE MIDDLE 70S AND A LOT OF LOCATIONS BY THE AFTERNOON, WHERE WE HOLD ON TO MORE CLOUD COVER AND WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT COOLER AIR IN PLACE. WE WILL LIKELY HOLD IN THE 60S FOR CITIES LIKE CULLMAN, MOVING TOWARDS THE LATER PART OF THE DAY TOMORROW. MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS AND THEN INTO THE EVENING HOURS. WE DO START TO SEE THOSE CLOUDS FILL BACK IN TO REPEAT ALMOST THE SAME FORECAST AGAIN ON SATURDAY. SO NOT REALLY MUCH OF A CHANGE IN THE OVERALL WEATHER PATTERN. THAT MEANS SATURDAY. WE’RE ALSO WARM AND MUGGY. WE START WITH THE CLOUDS AROUND DURING THE MORNING. THEY BREAK APART A BIT DURING THE AFTERNOON, AND WE QUICKLY WARM INTO THOSE MID AND UPPER 70S. GREAT DAY TO BE OUTDOORS. SUNDAY IS WHEN WE BRING IN THOSE CHANGES SO WE HAVE A FRONT MOVING INTO THE STATE. WE’RE NOT GOING TO BE AS WARM AND SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY. WE’RE NOT LOOKING AT ANY KIND OF SEVERE THREAT OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BUT THERE WILL BE SOME LIGHT RAIN AROUND TO GET YOU STARTED EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. THAT CONTINUES THROUGH ABOUT LUNCHTIME, AND THEN WE CAN’T RULE OUT JUST A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS THROUGH THE SECOND HALF OF THE DAY. BUT THE BIGGER STORY ON SUNDAY WILL BE THE DROP IN OUR TEMPERATURES. NOW IT IS GOING TO BE COOLER, BUT STILL ABOVE AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. WANTED TO SHOW YOU OUR SUNDAY AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES, BECAUSE IT WILL LIKELY BE ONE OF THOSE DAYS WHERE THERE’S A HUGE RANGE. SO IF YOU LIVE FARTHER NORTH, YOU’RE LIKELY TO SEE TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S THAT’S CLOSER TO AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. THE FARTHER SOUTH YOU LIVE, THE MORE LIKELY YOU ARE TO HOLD IN THE 70S, AS THAT COOL AIR TRIES TO PUSH INTO THE STATE FROM THE NORTH. LOOKING AHEAD TOWARDS NEXT WEEK, WE ARE GOING TO GET A MORE UNSETTLED PATTERN, SO THAT MEANS BETTER CHANCE FOR RAIN AT TIMES. WE’LL HAVE A COUPLE DIFFERENT SYSTEMS MOVING THROUGH AND WE ARE EVEN MONITORING THE POTENTIAL FOR MAYBE EVEN A FEW STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS AS WE APPROACH THE MIDDLE TO LATE PART OF NEXT WEEK. THAT IS SOMETHING WE WILL BE FINE TUNING IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. BUT WHAT YOU’LL ALSO NOTICE HERE ON OUR SEVEN DAY IS A DROP IN OUR TEMPERATURES AS WE START TO GET THOSE ROUNDS OF RAIN IN HERE, SOME COOLER AIR AROUND MORNING LOWS ARE STILL VERY MILD. WE’RE IN THE 50S, BUT BY THE AFTERNOON WE HOLD IN THE 60S AND
