A sinkhole involving a “fire apparatus” formed Friday in downtown Talladega, leading authorities to cordon off the area “until further notice.”
Talladega Fire and Rescue said around 3 p.m. Friday its officials and Talladega police responded to the sinkhole on East Street Square, opposite the Talladega County Probate Judge’s Office.
No injuries were reported and the apparatus did not sustain any damage, the department said.
“City workers are still on the scene, this area is closed off until further notice! PLEASE DO NOT GO NEAR THIS AREA,” the department said.
