Slain father identified in shooting that critically injured 1-year-old son

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has made arrests in a shooting that killed a man and critically injured his 1-year-old son Saturday afternoon.The father has been identified as Alonzo Montez Robinson, 34.The shooting happened shortly before 2 p.m. at the Dixie Manor apartments on Wisdom Way in northern Jefferson County. He was last reported to be in critical but stable condition.Adaryon Coachman, 19, was arrested and is in the Jefferson County Jail charged with capital murder and assault. He is being held on no bond in accordance with Aniah's Law.Information about a second person taken into custody has not been released.Investigators learned that there had been an ongoing neighborhood dispute between the suspect and the victim. They began arguing, and according to reports, that is when Coachman produced a gun and fired numerous shots killing the 34-year-old father. Several of the bullets struck the 1-year-old. WVTM 13's crew was on the scene where a crowd had gathered, and emotions were running high.
