UAB Medicine teams up with Talladega Superspeedway
The Talladega Superspeedway has entered into a new partnership with UAB Medicine.According to a news release, UAB Medicine has been named the official medical provider for the race track in Talladega County.UAB Medicine will provide medical services there for the next three years."To be the official medical provider of Talladega Superspeedway is significant and a testament to the quality of care that UAB Medicine offers and has long been known for," said Bobby Lewis, M.D., DMD, vice chair for Clinical Operations for UAB's Department of Emergency Medicine. "As one of the largest hospitals in the country and the only American College of Surgeons-verified Level One Trauma Center in Alabama, UAB's expertise complements the needs of Talladega tremendously, and we are excited to continue to serve the track, drivers and fans in this clinical capacity for many races to come."Race weekend kicks off April 22 with some races and ends with the GEICO 500 race on April 23.
