VIDEO: Man rescued after being trapped for hours under rubble at Louisville construction site

A construction worker was rescued after being trapped under rubble for nearly nine hours in downtown Louisville Thursday.Louisville Fire responded to a construction site around 11:40 a.m. after getting calls of a worker falling into a void space.Fire officials said the man fell 10-12 feet, with rubble covering and pinning him.First responders spent nearly nine hours on the scene working to free the man, using their hands, buckets, and vacuums to clear debris from around him.The man was finally pulled from the rubble and hoisted above ground around 8:30 p.m.The former community correctional center at the site is being demolished.On scene, Mayor Craig Greenberg thanked first responders and acknowledged it's been a trying week, having this happen just days after a massive explosion at a nearby factory."For all first responders here in Louisville, yet another example of the heroism of all of them.
