The dust has settled in the South Valley after *** windstorm swept through Monday afternoon and the clean up is happening at Porterville High school crews are repairing *** part of the roof of the wrestling room after the strong gusts tore it from the building. An ABC 30 insider captured the intense scene. The district says the part that peeled back was *** protective foam layer and the roof itself is still intact. We've also seen trees down in Wood Lake and in Corcoran where splash circus is preparing to open. This video shows the moments the dust storm moved through, bending some of the poles and tearing parts of the tent. I don't think not even 10 minutes, but it seemed that it was hours, you know, at the moment with the dust and the the wind, the little bit of rain, everything flying around like *** Mai Silva says he and three others were on top of the tent working to assemble it as the wind blew in. This cell phone video shows his view of the storm moving closer just moments before it hit. You know, once I looked to the back, it seemed I I even gave good bump. It was, it was like I told you, it was something we haven't experienced. The crew was hard at work. Tuesday afternoon, reinforcing the tent and clearing out the debris and also counting their blessings. That's where God wanted the motor home to be. And it would have been 2 2 ft closer. The tree would have landed on top and, you know, my nephew was inside.
