A rescue group is caring for two dogs and a turtle after a motor home crash on a Las Vegas interstate earlier this week.

Chloe, one of the dogs, wagged her tail with excitement as she reunited with Jim, the other dog, after they survived a fiery crash that shut down I-15 for 16 hours on Monday.

Their motor home collided with a semitruck, causing it to burst into flames.

Jim and a turtle were picked up at the scene with injuries.

The turtle had damage to its shell, and Jim suffered burns on his hind limbs.

Chloe suffered the worst injuries and bolted from the fire.

"She was rescued about two miles from the scene of the crash by a good Samaritan," said Maressa Larimer, a veterinarian at Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital. "As you can see, her front paws are bandaged and her front paws were pretty burnt.

"I don't know if that was from the actual fire or from her running or a combination of both," Larimer added. "You could tell that her whiskers were singed. She had some burns and lacerations around her face and her hair was pretty badly singed as well."

In addition to emergency medical care, the team at Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital ensured that Chloe received plenty of tender loving care.

"Just giving her lots of love. The staff here is loving on her left and right," Larimer said. "She is a very, very sweet dog."

The owner of the animals was hospitalized after the crash, but they are all expected to be reunited on later this week.
