The Miss Alabama competition stands as a shining example of what can be accomplished when college women are challenged and encouraged to achieve ambitious goals."Miss Alabama 2022: Lindsay FincherLindsay Fincher was a recent University of Alabama graduate who studied dance and political science before winning the crown of Miss Alabama in 2022, according to the University of Alabama.She had competed in the competition two other times before this win, coming in as the first runner-up the year before.She created a program in 2019 called "Catalyst: Arts for All," which consists of lesson plans, a children’s book, a coloring book and avenues for advocacy to get every student in Alabama a chance to be exposed to the arts community.Fincher went on to represent the state in the Miss America competition.In her bio, when asked the best advice, it read:"One of my favorite college professors, Dr. Jacqueline Morgan, told me to “live a eulogy life, not a resume life.” This advice reminds me to live a life of service, impact, and fulfillment rather than simply adding accolades and accomplishments to my resume. Brianna Burrell was crowned Miss Alabama 2023 Saturday night.

She represented Baldwin County and won the evening gown preliminary on Wednesday.

The competition took place at the Leslie S. Wright Fine Arts Center at Samford University in Homewood from June 25 through July 1.
