Friday begins and ends the same way: blustery and cold. The morning looks rough with wind chills down in the mid-20s for some spots across North Alabama. Some of the sheltered valley locations may see patchy frost but elevated winds will keep it out of the forecast for most. High temperatures will settle in the 50s, but a stiff northwest wind will keep it feeling like the 40s through the afternoon. If you're planning to brave the cold for round three of the AHSAA football playoffs, be sure to dress in warm layers. Temperatures will be sitting in the 40s at 7 p.m. Wind chills will be in the 30s for the entire game.
