Woman shot and killed in Homewood, person of interest in custody
A woman is being questioned in the shooting.
Homewood police are questioning a person of interest after a woman was killed Saturday morning.Police were called at 11:42 a.m. about a shooting at a residence in the 200 block of Robert Jemison Road.When they arrived, officers found a female victim who had been shot twice in the lower abdomen. She was rushed to UAB Hospital, where she died several hours later.The suspect left the scene before police arrived.Investigators took a woman into custody just before 4:30 p.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Circle Trail in Birmingham. She is being held at the Homewood City Jail for questioning.
