With Christmas quickly approaching, families across the country are already looking for ways to get into the spirit of the season.While you could settle for the traditional outings like tree lightings and visits with Santa at the mall, one Alabama State Park is offering folks the opportunity to cozy up with some cocoa in 260 million-year-old cave.Nestled 125 feet beneath Rickwood Caverns State Park lies the Wonderland under Warrior, a massive holiday hollow filled to the brim with Christmas creations.Our team walked a mile through the caves to check out everything from frozen waterfalls and smiling snowmen! We even ran into some fan-favorite Christmas characters; you never know what's hiding behind the cavern's many corners. The park's gift shop is also decorated for the holiday, offering unique gifts, ornaments, snacks, and hot cocoa.The cave remains a crisp 58-62 degrees year-round and you'll have to take about 30 steps down to the mile-long walk, so maybe pair some hiking boots with your holiday best.Tour tickets are $12 per person ages 5 and up.For hours and reservations, click here.
