10-year-old killed in Mountain Brook crash as driver was speeding, police say

A single car crash in Mountain Brook left a 10-year-old girl dead and two others in the hospital.

Mountain Brook Police Chief Jaye Loggins said this happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday on Cherokee Road.

Moments before the crash, Loggins said the driver was seen traveling at a high rate of speed on Old Leeds Road.

After the driver turned onto Cherokee Road, police found the car crashed.

A woman and two juvenile females were taken to the hospital. There, the 10-year-old girl died from her injuries.
