The Southeastern Conference didn’t switch to a nine-game schedule as many predicted, but the SEC did get a primetime audience on Wednesday.

Live on its own network, the conference revealed the 2024 football opponents for its soon-to-be 16-member programs. For the Alabama Crimson Tide, that meant learning about marquee matchups while retaining a couple of familiar games.

Alabama will also travel to Oklahoma, Tennessee, LSU and Vanderbilt. Other matchups include hosting South Carolina, Missouri and the Iron Bowl versus Auburn. The broadcast announced the games during its opening segment.

As reported earlier in the day, Nick Saban and co. will be hosting Georgia and Kirby Smart.

The Tide and Bulldogs last played in the 2020 regular season, a win for Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Georgia would capture its first of back-to-back national titles over the Tide a season later. And as for Oklahoma, both the Sooners and Texas Longhorns will be touring the conference. Alabama hasn’t played Oklahoma since 2003.

“I don’t know what Nick Saban is doing tonight but he’s probably looking for a drink,” SEC analyst Paul Finebaum said as the crew analyzed the Tide’s schedule. Finebaum noted Alabama will have to travel to the two schools that it lost to in 2022, the Volunteers and LSU Tigers.

As part of the 2014 composite schedule, the last time the conference expanded, Alabama and South Carolina were originally slated to meet next year. The Tide also begins a home-and-home series at Wisconsin.
