WITH THAT FAMILY TODAY AND MAGDALA. WHAT ARE THE PARENTS WANT TO SEE HAPPEN NOW? WELL, SHERRY, PARENTS WANT THERE TO BE ACCOUNTABILITY. WHERE NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF HICKORY ROAD AND ACADEMY, JUST BEHIND ME. 9 MINUTES WALKING DISTANCE IS JUST SOUTH FOR THAT DAYCARE IS THAT’S IN QUESTION. WELL, THAT’S FOR AN ADULT. BUT FOR THREE YEAR OLD MARCIE OLIVER JUNIOR. HE WAS FOUND DOWN THIS ROAD WALKING BY HIMSELF, BUT A COMPLETE STRANGER FOUND HIM. NOW, HIS PARENTS WANT THAT DAYCARE TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THREE YEAR OLD MARCUS OLIVER JUNIOR IS JUMPING AROUND IN PLAYFUL WITH HIS DADDY TODAY. BUT MONDAY WAS THE WORST DAY EVER FOR THE OLIVERS. MY HEART GOES OUT TO ANY PARENTS WHO HAVE HAD TO REALLY GO THROUGH A SITUATION LIKE THIS, AND THE STORY DIDN’T END LIKE MINE. THE FIRST DAY OF DAYCARE WENT WRONG FOR THE OLIVERS AFTER THE PARENTS DROPPED OFF THE THREE YEAR OLD. ALSO, SPEECH DELAYED AFTER 8 A.M. AT SOME POINT, HE WALKED AWAY FROM THE CHILDREN’S PLACE PROGRAM, ALTHOUGH HE DOESN’T TALK CONSISTENTLY, I THINK HE’S VERY INTELLIGENT, VERY AWARE OF HIS SURROUNDINGS, HIS ENVIRONMENT. I THINK THAT HE WAS REALLY COMING HOME. HE WAS REALLY HERE TO BEG ON THE OLIVER’S SAY THEY DIDN’T GET A CALL FROM THE OWNER UNTIL 1126, ONLY AFTER POLICE SHOWED UP ASKING FOR THE THREE YEAR OLD. A FACEBOOK POST ABOUT A WOMAN FINDING LITTLE MARCIE WALKING BY HIMSELF IS WHAT ALARMED THE PARENTS. THAT WAS THE SCARIEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE AND IT WAS JUST AND FOR ME, IT WAS MORE GUT WRENCHING FOR HER TO CALL ME IN SUCH A CALM MANNER WHEN I’M ALREADY AT MY PHONE, WHO I RECEIVED. AND THAT WAS THE THING. I RECEIVED A FACEBOOK NOTIFYING STATION TO TELL ME MY THREE YEAR OLD SON IS WALKING ALONG THE HIGHWAY IN A PLACE HE NEVER BEEN TO. AND I THANK GOD HE DIDN’T HAVE A SCRATCH. HE WASN’T HOME, BUT IS THE WOODY OF THERE HAS ME LIKE UP HERE. TODAY WE MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO SPEAK WITH THE OWNER KNOCKING ON THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES AND WE CALLED AND TEXTED. STILL NO ANSWER. THE STORY ENDED WELL, BUT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, HE MAY NOT EVEN BE AWARE. AND I DON’T WANT A PARENT TO EXPERIENCE WHAT WE EXPERIENCED OR EVEN WERE HAPPY TO HAVE THEIR SON ALIVE AND WELL. THE PARENTS WANT THIS DAYCARE TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. WE JUST WANT THEM TO BE AWARE THAT, HEY, YOU KNOW, JUST PAY ATTENTION. JUST JUST BE AWARE OF WHAT’S GOING ON. THE OLIVERS TELL ME THEY’LL BE SEEKING TO DO A LAWSUIT. BESSEMER POLICE TELL ME THAT THEIR INVESTIGATION IS OVER. D H R IS INVOLVED IN THIS CASE. I DID REACH OUT TO D H R THEY TELL ME THEY’RE AWARE OF THE ALLEGATIONS AND THE ONLY INFORMATION THEY CAN TELL ME RIGHT NOW, QUOTE, IS THAT THEY CANNOT COMMENT ON ANY POTENTIAL ONGOING CHILD ABUSE AND OR NEGLECT. INVESTI. WE’RE LIVE IN BESSEME
