Alabama's Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday begins Friday

THROUGH THE 23RD. YEAH, WE ARE WEEKS AWAY NOW. AGAIN FROM A SCHOOL STARTING CLASSES STARTING. YOU MENTIONED BACKPACKS. DORA THE EXPLORER, REMEMBER BACKPACK, BACKPACK. BUT ANY THROWBACK DORA THE EXPLORER, THAT’S RIGHT. WELL, PATSY DOUGLAS IS LIVE AND LOCAL FOR US WITH ONE ORGANIZATION THAT IS HOPING TO HELP FAMILIES IN NEED. PATSY, THEY ARE STARTING EARLY THIS MORNING. WHY IS THAT. WELL, THEIR HOPING TO FILL ABOUT 550 BACK PACKS. SO STUDENTS CAN WALK INTO SCHOOL JUST LIKE THIS. SCHOOL SUPPLIES IN THEIR BACKPACK. AND OF COURSE, THIS WILL HELP MANY OF THOSE FAMILIES THAT SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD IT. NOW, IN 2022, THE NATIONAL RETAIL FEDERATION FOUND FAMILIES COULD SPEND MORE THAN $800 ON SCHOOL SUPPLIES. THE AVERAGE FOR THIS YEAR EXPECTED TO BE EVEN HIGHER. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR FOUNDER OF CIRCLE OF LOVE, DORIS PHILLIPS, AS A SHE HERSELF HAS WORKED MULTIPLE JOBS JUST TO PROVIDE FOR HER CHILD. SHE’S NOW IN A BETTER POSITION TO GIVE AND HELP FAMILIES SAVE A FEW BUCKS. IF YOU’RE ALREADY A FAMILY THAT’S STRUGGLING, THAT. EXTRA 30 TO $50 IS GROCERIES FOR SEVERAL DAYS, ARE GAS TO GET BACK AND WORK FOR THE WEEK. AND SO IT ABSOLUTELY CAN BE DAUNTING. NOW, THEY’RE HOPING TO HELP CHILDREN IN SHELTERS IN VERY RURAL ENVIRONMENTS WITH THEIR BACKPACKS FOR SUCCESS CAMPAIGN. AND YOU CAN SEE THE SUPPLIES RIGHT THERE. THIS IS WHAT THEY’RE GOING TO NEED TO AGAIN, FILL THOSE 550 BACKPACKS. THEY’RE ALSO PARTNERING WITH REGIONS BANK SO THEY CAN HELP THEM OUT AS WELL. YOU CAN GO TO THE CIRCLE.
