Alleged gambling operation busted in Leeds

One man was arrested after law enforcement discovered an alleged illegal gambling operation in Leeds.According to a social media post from the Leeds Police Department (LPD), detectives and SWAT members conducted a search warrant on Elliott Lane on July 20.During the search, LPD said five illegal gambling machines, cash and two handguns were found.The police department stated Thomas Bynum, 56, of Leeds, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession of a gambling device and promoting gambling."It is amazing that a person would bring and set up this type of establishment in such a great neighborhood. I appreciate the officers outstanding work in this operation and the many other operations they have been conducting on a daily basis. We have a great team of law enforcement officers who are working to make Leeds a safety city to live, visit or work!" Leeds Police Chief Paul Irwin said in a statement.
