Birmingham police investigate double homicide in Ensley

Police have identified two men who were shot and killed Saturday night in Birmingham's Ensley community.Daryl Jones, 62, of Gardendale and Lee Ross, 71, of Birmingham, were shot at around 11 p.m. outside a home in the 700 block of 48th Street.Police say they were responding to a Shot Spotter alert when they got a report that two people had been shot. When officers arrived they found the victims in the back yard.Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel rushed the men to UAB Hospital where they were pronounced dead.Investigators say that the victims were at home when an unknown person or persons fired shots at them.
