THANKS TO A LITTLE DRIER AIR IN PLACE, A LITTLE HIGHER UP IN THE ATMOSPHERE TODAY. NOW THERE ARE A FEW SHOWERS AND STORMS THROUGH PORTIONS OF CLAY COUNTY BACK INTO RANDOLPH COUNTY. THESE ARE PUSHING DOWN TO THE SOUTH. NEW DEVELOPMENT. THEY’RE REALLY CLOSE TO AND JUST ON THE EAST SIDE OF ASHLAND, YOU CAN SEE THAT AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS, AGAIN, 1 OR 2 SPOTTY STORMS, ADDITIONAL ONES MAY DEVELOP. THAT’S ABOUT IT. Don’t cancel your plans, but you also should not be taken by surprise if one of those storms blows up nearby.Mother's Day ends up being the hottest afternoon of the month of May so far in many spots. We will begin the morning very warm and humid with lows just barely falling into the mid to upper 60's. With lots of sunshine the first half of the afternoon, highs climb into the lower 90's. Heat index values above 95 will be likely.EARLY SUMMER WEATHERWe may see an uptick in rain chances Monday and Tuesday as a front stalls to our north. Again, this of year, that means better coverage of mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Not all areas see rain. A few storms could contain gusty winds and small hail, but no organized severe threat is expected.Some drier air tries to work in midweek, limiting rain chances.
