THEN ON WEDNESDAY, POLICE UPDATED THEIR INVESTIGATION, INCLUDING THE SEARCH HISTORY THE SECRET SERVICE FOUND ON HER PHONE, INCLUDING QUESTIONS ABOUT AMBER ALERTS AND BUSSES. 'It brings up terrifying, horrifying feelings': Father of Aniah Blanchard says he's troubled by developments in Carlee Russell investigation
As the Carlee Russell investigation continues, some of the people who were a part of the initial search say new developments are troubling.This includes people who have had children go missing, like Elijah Blanchard.Blanchard, the father of Aniah Blanchard, said when he first heard that Russell was missing, his heart went out to the family. He said unless you've been there, as he has, you can't fathom how frightening that is. But by the next day, he said he felt troubled with the situation because it just didn't feel right. It's been four years since Blanchard's daughter disappeared and was later found murdered. He said the wound is still fresh, and Russell's case has only caused more pain. "It does open up wounds because our daughter was taken. And as a father, you know, your daughter is your pride and joy," said Blanchard. "I mean, really that's your baby girl, and it touched home a lot, and you know, to kind of find out later that, you know, Carlee returns home with really no justification of what happened. And you know, and it bothers me because it was a post that was made that said she fought for her life. "It needs to be some type of reprimand behind her actions, and I'm speaking boldly out that because I've been through something, like I said, what my family gone through. It wasn't three days we didn't sleep, it was several weeks that we didn't sleep, not knowing where our child was, not knowing, didn't have a clue where she was. We found a car, but she was still missing. We found the suspect, but she was still missing, and then all of a sudden we find her remains that had been lying in the woods to throw in the trash like a like a like, you know, she was thrown in the trash like garbage," he said.
