ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. —

A Greenville man who made headlines last year for his alleged connection to a string of violent crimes has been charged with murder in St. Clair County.

Thirty-six-year-old Michael Butler is accused in the shooting death of a Lincoln woman, 54-year-old Victoria Malet, whose body was discovered in Pell City in November 2022.

Malet's body was found just days after Butler was arrested and charged with the kidnapping and rape of two teenage girls in Prattville.
