April’s housing numbers are a little deceiving when it comes to the number of homes that were on the market in the Huntsville area, according to Realtors.

In Madison, Limestone, Morgan and Lawrence counties, which make up the Huntsville-Madison, Athens and Decatur markets, inventory was more than double what it was a year ago.

But it’s still not enough to keep with the growth in the area, which is among the fastest in Alabama.

How much is needed?

Tim Knox of Revolved Realty said Huntsville would run out of homes in a month if none were added to the supply.
