Portion of busy Birmingham street closed for drain repairs
Two blocks of a popular street in Birmingham are now closed to traffic for a while.According to construction firm Brasfield & Gorrie, the portion of Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard between 8th Court South and 10th Avenue South is now closed.Workers will be on site each day to complete storm drain work in that section of the roadway.Work is expected to last for two weeks.Detour signs are posted in the area.
