Prolonged stretch of dry, sunny weather arrives

CONTINUED TODAY. EXCLUSIVE LIVE RADAR TRACKING STORMS SO YOU’LL KNOW. FIRST, THIS IS WVTM 13 WEATHER AFTER A LOT OF MORNING RAIN. WE’RE ENJOYING A DRIER AFTERNOON ACROSS MUCH OF CENTRAL ALABAMA. A FEW SHOWERS HAVE MANAGED TO GET GOING, BUT BY FAR THE MOST ACTIVE WEATHER CLOSER TO THE GULF COAST. WE’RE GOING TO SEE SOME DRIER AIR MOVE IN OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. SHADES OF BLUE SHOWING THAT VERY WELL MAY TOUCH OF, IN FACT, ALL OF THE STATE DEALING WITH SOME OF THAT DRIER AIR, REALLY LIMITING RAIN CHANCES AS WE WORK THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF THE WEEK. NOW LATE IN THE WEEK, THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SOME MOISTURE TRIES TO RETURN, BUT EVEN THEN, RAIN CHANCES LOOK PRETTY LIMITED. SO THE THEME OVER THE NEXT 5 TO 7 DAYS WILL BE DRIER WEATHER AND ALSO BUILDING HEAT. WHILE WE GET A BIT OF A BREAK OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, THAT BIG OL HEAT RIDGE BACK TO OUR WEST, IT BUILDS BACK IN FARTHER EAST. AND SO THAT’S GOING TO RAISE THOSE TEMPERATURES ONCE AGAIN, ESPECIALLY THE SECOND HALF OF THE COMING WEEK. SO WE ENJOY SOME DRIER AND LESS HUMID WEATHER FOR TOMORROW IN FACT, OVERNIGHT TONIGHT, TEMPERATURES GET DOWN INTO THE UPPER 60S IN MOST SPOTS. A FEW LOCATIONS NORTH ALABAMA DOWN INTO THE MID 60S. TOMORROW AFTERNOON, 90, YES, HOT. BUT AGAIN, THAT LOWER HUMIDITY MAKING IT FEEL JUST A LITTLE MORE COMFORTABLE. TEMPERATURES, THOUGH, WARMING, ESPECIALLY ONCE WE GET TO TUESDAY. WEDNESDAY, BACK UP BELOW AVERAGE HUMIDITY WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE AS WORK THROUGH THE UPCOMING WEEK AS WELL. SO RAIN CHANCES, LIKE I MENTIONED, VERY LIMITED. IN FACT, I THINK ALL AREAS WILL REMAIN DRY TOMORROW, MONDAY AND TUESDAY. LOOKS LIKE MANY OF US DRY AGAIN WEDNESDAY, HEADING INTO THURSDAY. IT WON’T BE UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND. THAT WILL SEE THOSE RAIN CHANCES START TO CREEP BACK UP. EVEN THEN, MORE OF US DRY THAN WET. ALL RIGHT. HERE’S A LOOK AT OUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST. NIGHTTIME LOWS VERY COMFORTABLE THE NEXT TWO DAYS WITH THE LOWER HUMIDITY. BUT THOSE HIGH TEMPERATURES, THEY’RE CREEPING BACK UP. 94 TUESDAY, 95. BY THE TIME WE GET TO FRIDAY. JUST AN ISOLATED STORM. CHANCE LATE IN THE WEEK. SLIGHTLY BETTER RAIN CHANC

That’s the second-most on record for the first three weeks of the month (2004 had 65).Birmingham’s NWS office triggered 47 warnings: not even close to the record of 77 back in 1995 over the same period, but still more than usual.
