Special election dates set for Alabama House District 16
The dates for Alabama House District 16's special election have been announced.On Friday, Gov. Kay Ivey signed a proclamation setting the special primary election for Tuesday, Sept. 26 and the special general election for Tuesday, Jan. 9.This comes after Rep. Kyle South, who previously held the seat, resigned at the end of June to serve as president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WVTM 13 “Rep. South has served the people of House District 16 well for the past nine years and will continue to do so in his new role as president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.
