HOME AFTER THE SCHOOL’S PROM. THEY WERE IN PROM WAS THE LAST TIME FRIENDS AND FAMILIES OF MADISON SIMMS SAW HER THAT NIGHT. AND IN A BEAUTIFUL PINK DRESS. THAT’S WHY MANY OF THEM WORE PINK AND HAD PINK BALLOONS WITH THEM. HERE’S VIDEO RIGHT NOW OF HUNDREDS OF PINK BALLOONS BEING RELEASED INTO THE SKY IN HONOR OF THE 17 YEAR OLD. NOW, MADISON AND 18 YEAR OLD SAMUEL BROWN, JUNIOR WERE TRAGICALLY KILLED IN A CAR CRASH EARLY SATURDAY MORNING AFTER LEAVING PAUL BRYANT HIGH SCHOOL’S PROM. TUSCALOOSA POLICE SAY BOTH TEENS AND OF AND TWO OTHERS WERE IN A TESLA WHEN IT COLLIDED WITH A SEMI-TRUCK AT THE INTERSECTION OF SKYLAND BOULEVARD EAST AND I. 5920. OFFICERS FOUND THE CAR PINNED UNDER THE TRUCK. MADISON’S GRANDFATHER, OSCAR FORD, CAME TO BE A PART OF THE MEMORIAL. FRIENDS MADE SIGN SAYING, DEAR MADISON, WE LOVE YOU. AND THEY GAVE HER GRANDFATHER FLOWERS. FORD SPOKE TO SPOKE TO STUDENTS, THANKING THEM FOR THEIR SUPPORT. MADISON BEING THE PERSON THAT SHE WAS, SHE WAS REAL SOFT. WE ARE QUIET AND VERY ACADEMIC MINDED. AND AND I THINK THEY ALL RECEIVED HER WAY OUT HERE. AND I’M JUST OVERWHELMED AT THAT. AND I’M STILL OVERWHELMED AT THE TURNOUT. SAMUEL BROWN, JUNIOR, WHO ALSO DIED IN THAT TRAGIC CRASH, WAS FROM UNIONTOWN. THAT’S IN THE MONTGOMERY AREA. THE PERRY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT RELEASED A STATEMENT ON ITS FACEBOOK PAGE SHARING ITS CONDOLENCE, SAYS, WITH BROWN AND SIMS FAMILY. OUR BROWN WAS SET TO GRADUATE THIS YEAR. Prom night was the last time friends and family saw Madison Sims, in a beautiful pink dress. That's why many friends wore pink and released pink balloons. Hundreds of pink balloons were released into the sky in honor of the 17-year-old. She and 18-year-old Samuel Brown Jr. were tragically killed in a car crash early Saturday morning after leaving Paul W. Bryant High School's prom. Tuscaloosa police say both teens and two others were in a Tesla when it collided with a semitrailer at the intersection of Skyland Boulevard East and Interstate 59/20. Officers found the car pinned under the truck. Madison's grandfather Oscar Ford came to be a part of the memorial.Friends made signs — "Dear Madison, we love you" — and they gave her grandfather flowers.Ford spoke to students thanking them for their support.“Madison being the person that she was, she was really soft and very academic-minded, and I think they all received her well here. I was just overwhelmed. I’m still overwhelmed at the turnout,” Ford said.Samuel Brown Jr., who also died, was from Uniontown in the Montgomery area. The Perry County School district expressed its condolences on Facebook about Brown and Sim's passing. He was a senior set to graduate this year.
